Restoring the balance in your life

About me

Hi I’m Natalie, Owner of Nat-Ural Holistics. I came across reflexology whilst looking for ways to improve my own health conditions, and I’ve not looked back.

I decided to complete a Level 3 Reflexology qualification so I could treat other people and help them, in the way I have been helped. I’m fascinated at how our bodies respond to our lifestyle and surroundings, and how reflexology can support with the effects of this. I love my work as a reflexologist, and find it very rewarding. I also offer Indian Head Massage as a treatment option. I am proud to be a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR), and I am fully insured.

I have a very calming, lovely, purpose built treatment room in Dauntsey (near Chippenham, Royal Wootten Bassett & Swindon, SN15)

How does Reflexology work?

Reflexology works in a very similar way to acupuncture by using the body’s meridians and stimulating pressure points, or reflex points, in the feet. Just without the needles! We can access all of the body’s organs, structures and systems through the feet; they act as a map of the body.

By pressing on a reflex point it triggers an effect in the body, it also helps us to understand where there is blocked energy.

As the therapist, I feel different texture as I work on your feet such as bubble wrap, sponginess or perhaps crystals; these all indicate blocked energy. You may feel different sensations which also indicate blockages.

What does a Reflexology treatment look like?

A reflexology treatment starts with a short medical consultation, from the information received during this, we can agree a treatment plan. Once you’re comfortable on the couch, I will carry out a foot reading, looking for indicators and feedback from your body.

We then start the treatment by going through a relaxation routine, including opening the zones within the body, ready to receive the treatment. I then work through all areas of the body following a routine, paying attention and taking note of any sensations that either you or myself notice.

I can then come back to these points at the end of the treatment to check the blockage has released or to work on the point some more if it’s still there. We then finish the treatment with closing the zones, and discussing areas of feedback, and future treatments.

What are the benefits of Reflexology?

Reduce stress

Improve Low moods

Release of tension

Relaxation

Relieve sleep disorders

Increased wellbeing

By treating these 6 areas with reflexology, you can minimise the impact that they have on the rest of your body, and associated issues.

After a brief medical consultation, you will be invited to remove any top layers of clothing (excluding underwear) and place a towel around you.

Once seated comfortably, a non-scented essential oil will be applied to your neck, back, shoulders and upper arms. A series of massage techniques will be used to treat the tissues in these areas, breaking down any blockages and removing toxins.

We will then move onto treating the head and face, with deeply relaxing massage, to improve circulation and relieve any stress. We complete the session with the re-balancing of chakra’s.

Frequently asked questions

Who can receive a reflexology treatment?

Reflexology is a suitable treatment for a wide range of people.  Anyone under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian.  If you are currently in your first trimester of pregnancy, taking antibiotics or have DVT, then it is advisable to wait, but please get in touch to discuss your condition, and make a treatment plan for the future.

How to book an appointment?

Appointments can be made through the online booking system or by calling/messaging/using the get in touch section on the website.

I have a Health Cash Plan or private insurance.

You may be able to claim the cost of your treatment back from your provider.  All treatment must be paid for at the time, and a receipt will be provided to assist with your claim.

Why do I need a consultation during my initial appointment?

So we can discuss any issues you are currently experiencing, and have experienced in the past, and make a treatment plan, so that you achieve the most from your treatment.

Does reflexology tickle?

No, a firm pressure is used during the treatment, so even the most ticklish person can enjoy it.

What am I able to do after a treatment?

You are likely to feel very relaxed and possibly sleepy following a treatment, so try and maximise these benefits by having a quiet period afterwards.  Be sure to drink plenty and stay hydrated whilst you flush out any toxins released during your treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

Most people will feel the benefits of reflexology after their first treatment. However, chronic conditions such as stress, sleep disorders and pain management would benefit from further treatments.  This will be discussed and agreed with you during your consultation.
